Olusanya Elisa OLUBUSOYE

Dr E.O. Olubusoye Olusanya Elisa OLUBUSOYE (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer and formerly the Ag. Head (May 2009 - April 2011), Department of Statistics, University of Ibadan. He was a visiting scholar to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2006. Also, he served as Nigerian Technical Expert to Ethiopia under the Nigeria Technical Aid Corps scheme between 2006 and 2008. During this period, he was deployed to the Department of Statistics, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia as an Assistant Professor. He served as a consultant to African Union (AU) on Education Management Information System (EMIS) and development of indicators for monitoring the Plan of Action (POA) for the second decade of education for Africa. He has taught many applied and theoretical statistics courses including Econometrics, Operations Research, Quality control, Inference, Probability, Decision Theory, e.t.c, within and outside the department. He has published widely in the areas of econometric modeling and application of Monte-Carlo simulation techniques to investigate sampling properties of some estimation methods in econometrics. He enjoys writing research proposals for funding. He was a Principal Researcher in a joint proposal on “Modeling Inflation Process in Nigeria” funded by the African Econometric Research Consortium (AERC), based in Nairobi, Kenya. He was also a leading member of the multidisciplinary research project on “Spatial-Temporal Information Systems Modeling and Econometric Analysis of Revenue Allocation in Nigeria (1999-2008)” funded by MacArthur Foundation. He was a deputy coordinator to a number of Lagos State Baseline Data and Service Delivery Projects funded by World Bank between 2004 and 2005. He is a member of many Professional and Academic associations including Royal Statistical Society (RSS), London, African Econometric Society (AES), International Biometric  Society (IBS) Group Nigeria, and The Nigerian Statistical Society. He holds the highest professional qualification of Chartered Statistician (CStat) of the RSS. He is a Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Econometric and Allied Research (CEAR), University of Ibadan.
